Mark your calendars! There is a public meeting planned on June 13th at 6:30 p.m. at the Mercer Island library, to review and offer input about the design for the upcoming library remodel. The architectural team from Miller-Hull Partnership will make a presentation. You are invited to attend.
This is the mandatory orientation for teens volunteering to read with children this summer. Topics covered include scheduling and program expectations, information about child literacy ant tips for working with young readers. Teen volunteers need to have submitted a completed application to the library in order to participate in the training. Applications will be available starting May 13th and are due back by June 10th. On Thursday, March 17, 2011, the Friends of the Mercer Island Library will have a meeting at 3:15 p.m. in the large meeting room at the Mercer Island Library. In addition to discussions about this year’s book sales and programs, there will be a special presentation to John Gray, who has been a long-time member of the Friends and most recently served as vice president of the organization.
The meeting is open to all.
