Annual Silent Auction and Fall Book Sale Next Week

Just two quick reminders:

1) The Friends of the Mercer Island Library’s Annual Silent Auction of special books and audio-visual materials is in progress now at the MI Library. The auction is filled with wonderful items. It will conclude at the end of the day on Wednesday, October 20.

A list of items on auction can be found at the Friends website, milibraryfriends.org. You may bid in writing for any auction item any time during regular library hours up through Octoboer 20th.  Enjoy!

2)  The Friends large annual Fall Book Sale begins next week with a sale of paperback books in the library lobby starting as early as Wednesday, Oct. 20th. The members-only opening sale will occur from 5-9pm on Thursday, Oct. 21. The open-to-the-public hours for the sale are 10am to 6pm on Friday, Oct. 22, 10am to 5pm on Saturday, Oct. 23, and 1 to 5pm on Sunday, Oct. 24 when all remaining books will be half price. New items will be added daily.

Over 12,000 books of all genres plus CDs and DVDs will be available, most priced from 50 cents to $2. We hope to see you there! All proceeds from these events go to support programs and activities of the Mercer Island Library.

Friends of Mercer Island Library Fall Book Sale

October 21*, 22, 23 and 24

The Friends of the Mercer Island Library invite you to our Fall Book Sale. Thanks to the generous donations of Island residents, we have over 10,000 books to sell, as well as CDs, DVDs, and videos in every category.

*A members-only pre-sale will be held on Thursday evening, October 21 between 4:45 and 8:00 pm. Members of Friends of the Mercer Island Library will have the opportunity to select and purchase books before the sale opens to the general public on Saturday. New members can join at the door on Thursday evening, and members whose membership has lapsed can renew. Annual memberships are Family $15, Individual $10, and Senior $5.

The sale to the general public will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 22, 23, and 24 . Saturday hours will be from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.

On Sunday, all books will be half price from 1pm until closing.

Silent Auction:
October 1st through October 20th, Featuring 100 special books.
Bid winners can pick up their items Oct 22th-Oct 24th.

Fall Book Sale :
Thursday, October 21, 5-9pm Members Only (you can join at the door)
Friday, October 22, 10am-6pm
Saturday, October 23, 10am-5pm
Sunday, October 24, 1pm-5pm
• Over 8,000 books of all genres plus media- most priced 50¢ to $2
• New Items will be added daily.
• Paperbacks will be sold in the lobby as early as Wednesday, October 20.

Mini Spring Book Sale in April
