January 25th is New Date for Friends of the MI Library Annual Meeting

Due to the winter storms, the annual meeting of the Friends of the Mercer Island Library has been postponed to Wednesday, January 25th at 3 pm at the Mercer Island Library.

At this meeting, officers for 2012 will be elected and the 2012 budget will be reviewed and approved. In addition to the annual meeting, there will be a regular meeting of the Friends with reports from the officers, committee chairs, and the branch librarians.

The meeting is open to all. However, only members of the Friends of the Mercer Island Library will be able to participate in the election and votes.

New Officers Elected for 2011

At the annual meeting on January 20th, four officers were elected. Lori Robinson was elected as president, Joel Wachs was elected as vice president, Nancy Harvey was re-elected as treasurer, and Lenore Defliese was re-elected as secretary.

The entire membership would like to extend their thanks to John Gray who served as vice president of the group for the past few years.

The new officers will serve until the next annual meeting on January 19, 2012.
