Create and Record Sound Effects for Movies Tech Workshop Tuesday, August 15, 1:00 PM

Sheet musicPresented by STYLE (Songwriting Through Youth Literature Education)Ages 12-18Sound/Audio is one of the most important pieces in giving Movies, TV, Video games, Radio and other performances the final mood and perspective for an audience. Most sounds that are heard in these art forms are created inside of a sound studio. This includes sound effects, sound tracks and often dialogue from the characters. This Art form is called Foley. STYLE will introduce Foley to the group, giving examples of Foley artists in action, and then we will give the group the opportunity to create their own sound effects to an already existing work. We will provide a script, instruments and other tools for the students to work from as they build their own sounds. We will record this performance with a mobile recording studio, and place the finished product on a web page built specifically for this library. This program is a great opportunity to collaborate with a team and learn about the power of sound and perspective. Please register online or call the library.
