The Friends of the Mercer Island Library’s annual Silent Auction is current underway at the Mercer Island Library. The items are on display in the case by the entrance to the Library, which is also where the bid sheets are available. The auction runs until September 6, 2011.
We wanted to highlight two of the books that are in the Silent Auction.
Item number 90 is a signed copy of artist Rie Muñoz‘s “Portrait of Alaska: A Thirty-Year Retrospective.” The book not only contains over 300 color images of Ms. Muñoz’s work from the mid-1960s to the mid-1990s, but also has a biography of the artist.
Item number 46 is the limited edition of “Grateful Dead: The Illustrated Trip,” the definitive history of the iconic rock band. Only 1,000 copies of the limited edition version of this book were printed.
The proceeds from the Friends of the Mercer Island Library’s Silent Auction and Book Sales help to fund over 75% of the programs at the Library.
